Ferdinand I in 1563 built this beautiful Italian Renaissance building. It is closed to the public
except for selected exhibitions. Feel free though to walk the surrounding royal garden and admire the buildings extraordinary copper
roof and ionic columns from afar. Be sure to check out the singing fountain whose delicate jets ring against the huge cast bowl
below. The serene gardens with narrow paths and colourful flowerbeds are the perfect place to relax with a fine view of the castle
complex and away from the crowds.
A minutes walk towards the castle is the Ballgame hall also in a fabulous renaissance style with its unique stratified face and
magnificent columns.
