One of the oldest buildings in Prague this simple and beautiful church has like so many of the
historical buildings in Prague has undergone many face changes. It currently looks like its original medieval Romanesque
predecessor after being ‘de-modelled’ from a more ostentatious baroque face.
Inside a small chapel is dedicated to St John Nepomuk. The chapel contains a glass case with an arranged skull and related
bones - an abbess of the adjacently attached convent. A look up to the ceiling will open the dome fresco, which with a
trick of perception makes the space more open and grand.
The simplicity of this building provides a meditative venue for the chamber orchestras held here in the evenings.
